Use your student email address
You should always use your student email address when you need to contact administrative and academic staff. You should check your student email address regularly, as this is the main way we communicate with you.
Activate your IT account to receive your own student.manchester.ac.uk email address.
Contacting staff
If you need to see a member of staff, please send an email, leave a message giving your telephone number, or sign-up for an appointment on the office hours schedules displayed outside the staff office doors.

Academic staff
Provides academic leadership for the undergraduate area, specifically developing and overseeing the implementation of strategic academic plans and taking these forward through the Committee structure.
Provide overall academic insight for a programme, liaising with the admissions tutors on admissions policy, ensuring that each year of a programme contains appropriate material and monitoring the output and final destination of graduates from the programme.

Responsible for the design and development of the course, coordinating the teaching arrangements and monitoring the quality, and provide the first point of contact to discuss any issues you may have relating to the course.

The team provides information about course units, programme structures, and timetable queries. The team also helps students who are spending their third year abroad or on a full year work placement.

The team offers guidance and support on your everyday wellbeing and any issues that may affect your ability to study. The team will also be able to signpost you to other student support services within the University, including the Disability Advisory and Support Service (DASS), the Counselling & Mental Health Service, the Students' Union Advice Centre, and more.

However, please be aware that the role of the Student Support and Wellbeing Team is to help you keep on track with your studies and make a success of your time as a student. This means that so we can support you in the best way possible, we may ask if you would be happy for us to share some details of the conversations we have with you with other staff.
This is so we can help you get the support, advice and help you need as quickly as possible. This might be academic staff, the disability support office or the counselling service but would not normally include anyone from outside the University*.
If you are uncomfortable with us sharing this information, your Student Support and Wellbeing Team will be happy to discuss with you which service can provide the best support depending on your circumstances.
