The Great AMBS Fundraiser

Exclusively for first-year and second-year undergraduate AMBS students, this project enables you to put your entrepreneurial skills into practice to support a charitable cause.

In teams, you will select a charity to represent, work on a fundraising proposal based upon the brief your chosen charity has provided, and put your ideas into practice by planning, organising and executing your own fundraising scheme. The team who raises the most money will be crowned the winners of The Great AMBS Fundraiser.

The project will help you develop your skills in presenting project briefs, logistical planning, public relations and brand management, and many more. As you will be volunteering your time, participating in the project will also count towards the Stellify Award.

Please see below for the list of charities, one of which you will be working with.

  • Literacy Pirates: This charity runs after-school programs led by teachers, providing one-on-one and small group support from trained volunteers to help children aged 9–12 develop literacy, confidence, and perseverance.
  • Noah’s ART: The family-run, community-based, not-for-profit social enterprise aims to utilise the benefits of the human-animal bond to improve mental health and wellbeing in Greater Manchester.
  • Mencap Denton: This charity supports people with a learning disability, as well as their families and carers.

Take a look at a more detailed breakdown of the stages of the initiative.
